Log into the Linux system in the Brooklyn College WEB Lab

 

          You can login to the Linux system in the WEB Lab with one of the following IP addresses:

 

146.245.252.25

146.245.252.26

146.245.252.27

146.245.252.28

146.245.252.31

146.245.252.34

146.245.252.35

146.245.252.41

146.245.252.150

 

On a Windows computer:

 

Step1: Download the 64-bit PUTTY.msi to your computer from the link below:  https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html

 

Step2: On your computer, double click on the 64-bit PUTTY.msi installer to install.

Click next to complete installation of PUTTY.

 

Step3: Double click on the PUTTY icon to launch the program

 

Step4: Click on session on the left and type in one of the IP addresses from above.

 

Step5: Click open and log in with your Linux username and Linux password.

 

 

On a MAC:

 

Step1: In the menu, click on go, click on utilities and double click on the terminal icon.

 

Step2: In the terminal icon, type ssh, a space, and your username@one of the IP

addresses from above, or for an example, ssh jack@146.245.252.28

 

Step3: Type in your Linux password when prompted.

  

 

On a Chromebook:

 

Step1: Log into your Chromebook with your Google username and password

 

Step2: Click on the circle on the left side of the taskbar

 

Step3: Click on the arrow pointing up. You should see many icons.

 

Step4: Scroll down and click on the Linux apps icon to launch a terminal

 

Step5: Log in to your Linux account the same way you do on a MAC in step 2 above.
